Colored Slip workshop

In this hands on 4 hour workshop, we will share colored slip making and application for use in your work. The slip formula we will share is unique in that it can be applied at any stage- wet,leather, bone dry or on fired bisque. It is durable at cone 04-10!
In addition to making and using colored slip, we will share additional decorating techniques including slip trailing, sgraffito and paper resist.
We will demo a fun stamp making technique that can be used immediately...no waiting for them to be fired. This demo will give you the information and supplies to make stamps on your own.
You will make a serving tray to practice on and slip trailers will be available to purchase for future use.
We are packing a ton of information and fun into this 4 hours . Bring a snack and a sense of humor ! We will have a small break and some snacks will be provided.
Home Studio 101
If you are ready to have a home studio, we are here to help. Don't miss this chance to get a head start on setting up a practical and efficient space. We have years of practice and several studio set-ups ranging from back yards to community centers under our collective belts.
We will provide practical advice from equipment needs and electrical demands to firing kilns and mixing glazes. A comprehensive workbook will be provided .
Space is limited to allow adequate time for individual needs to be discussed.
Surface design: a glaze prequel
Mocha diffusion, bubbles, hydro abrasion and detail tape
In this workshop, we will explore surface treatments with flair and fun. Test pots and tiles will be provided for experimentation.This is a great workshop for potters who are ready to leave a little up to change and embrace happy accidents. The detail tape will provide a little more control and sharp clean lines for balance.
Students can choose their best test pots for firing to be picked up at a later date.
RAKU and Alternative firing workshop
This workshop will provide an opportunity for you to try new things!
We will experiment with traditional raku glazes ,obvara and feather/horse hair raku. Each participant will be provided with 5 test pots to experiment with. These pots will go home with you !
Potter's are welcome to bring 3-5 bisque pots no larger than 8 inches in any direction.
Wear close-toed shoes and appropriate clothing. You will be given the opportunity to glazes, fire and remove your pots from the kiln depending on your comfort level.
We will have a little cookout and a large time!

soup salad and sip set
Come make you own soup and salad set with slabs and textures galore in this handbuilding workshop. We will also make a cup to match. In this workshop , we will design and decorate the wares that will be fired and glazed in the color you choose for later pick up.

Join us for a day of demos, lunch, and tool making! Gianna Eden will share her tool making and throwing skills with us in this 4 hour workshop. Using bamboo and reclaimed metal we will fashion unique tools that will give your tool kit a sense of pride!
