GEORGIA WOOD-FIRED POTTERY
NEXT AT OLOGY!
Georgia Wood-Fired Pottery is a celebration of an ancient ceramic tradition and the dedicated Georgia potters who continue to keep it alive. Rooted in time-honored techniques, wood firing embraces fire, ash, and chance as active collaborators in the creative process. The resulting works bear rich surfaces, natural ash glazes, and subtle markings that speak to both the kiln’s intensity and the maker’s hand. This exhibition brings together contemporary practitioners from across the state, honoring a shared commitment to patience, craftsmanship, and community while showcasing the enduring beauty and relevance of wood-fired ceramics in the modern South.

FACEJUG OR MUG WORKSHOP
FEATURED WORKSHOP!
Go wild, go weird, go wonderful—craft a face mug or jug on the form of your choice.
We provide a mug or jug made on the potters wheel for you to decorate.
Our resident jug man, Kyle Brown, will guide you through the steps to create a one-of-a-kind piece.
Inspired by our Georgia Wood Fire Potters exhibition (and a little Jugtown mischief), we’ll take a quick tour, swap stories about the history of these expressive vessels, and then get our hands dirty making our own.
Snaggle teeth? Big ears? A little attitude? Highly encouraged.
We’ll fire your piece and have it ready for pickup in about two weeks.
Come make something with a face only you could love.
